Q & A
-
In most
cases, having someone come to your home to work on your PC just
doesn't make sense unless it is free warranty work. In
some cases we will to come to your home to work on your PC.
Remember this is the more expensive choice.
-
Lets say
that a local computer geek comes to your home to repair your PC
and finds the usual problems. Viruses, Spyware, slow Internet
access and unexplainable lockups. You will pay this person to
sit and watch various software programs clean up your PC. Not
so with us. Drop it off with us and pick it up on your way
home. We start the cleaning process and move on to the next
PC. We don't charge you to sit and stare at the monitor while
the software runs and does it's thing. This saves you money!
Don't be fooled by cheap rates!
-
In home
repair scenario: Antivirus software is run to clean your
PC. This can take a long time depending on how many files are
on your PC. Half hour or maybe an hour. It takes 2 minutes to
get it going but the repair person sits there on the clock for
half an hour to an hour while it runs. And that's just the
beginning. You pay for this time!
-
Bring it
in to us scenario: Antivirus software is run to clean your
PC. It takes 2 minutes to get it going. We start it and move
on to work on another PC. We don't sit there and stare at it
while it runs and bill you for that time. When it is done, we
start a Spyware scan and then move on to another PC. This can
take half an hour to an hour also. When this is done, we
validate internet speed and make sure the PC is actually clean
of viruses and so-on. And before any of this, we run through
standard tests and inspect and clean your PC. All of this at a
fraction of the billable dollars that the in home repair person
racks up while sitting there. You pay for WORK TIME and not
"sitting there staring at the PC time".
-
We have
everything we need here. No running around and wasting your
time and money looking for parts and software!
-
No strange
person in your home!
-
There is a
huge difference in general PC repair you may find in the local
papers and Commercial Quality PC Repair. Now, we offer
the same high quality service and repair for your home PC that
we have been offering to business PC's since 1989. At a rate
that is affordable to most home PC users.
-
Always
remember, you get what you pay for.
-
We charge
$50 per hour for actual work done. Not "sitting there watching
software run" time.
-
Billed at 1
hour minimum and on 15 minute increments there after.
-
If it is
under warranty, it is probably a less expensive option. Other
than that, there is no reason.
-
Have you
seen the same face twice at one of those places?
-
There is not
enough room on this web site to answer that question!

We are a
repair service and not a "how do I" service. Sorry.
-
We support
our repairs.
-
Yes.
Viruses, Spyware and Browser hijackers can be very destructive
and complex.
-
Although
rare, we have had to re-install everything from scratch under
extreme cases.
-
In some
cases customers have dropped off their PC and said "erase it and
reinstall everything".
-
We will warn
you BEFORE such drastic measures are needed so we can help
preserve valuable data.
Not likely,
We go over your checklist of problems with you to verify that
you are happy with our work before you take your PC home. If
anything is wrong, we will correct it before you take it home.
Each and every PC goes through a comprehensive checklist before
and after repairs.
Yes. Before
you leave with your PC, we will educate you on how to keep your
PC as clean as possible from viruses, spyware and other Internet
invaders. It only takes a few minutes and is well worth the
time.
-
As far as
your PC is concerned, only the computer itself. Unless you are
having problems with your monitor, keyboard or mouse, there is
no need to bring in anything other than the computer itself.
-
Any
software, operating system CD's or special drivers CD's you may
have. We will make note of those on our checklist and you will
sign for them when you get them back.
-
If we need
CD's you did not bring in, we will call you.
Yes. This
is a VERY important question. With the price of new PC's
these days, a new PC could be cheaper than fixing your old
one. We can help you with that decision.
